About the Luckenbooth Circle.
Luckenbooth is a fun and supportive social dance that takes place on the third Friday of every month from September through to April.
We walk all dances through, but appreciate it if people have taken the time to have a look at them before coming (scottish-country-dancing-dictionary.com). Some clubs (including Reel Club) practice the dances beforehand.
Programmes and cribs are available on this website at least a month prior to the event.
We break halfway though for a shared supper. Please bring your own food, which you can share, if you wish, with others on your table. Also please bring your own plate, mug and cutlery. Hot drinks are provided, and there will be snacks provided on each table.
News.
Our 2023 Christmas dance raised £294 for Crisis at Christmas, so many thanks to all those who donated. We had such a fabulous evening’s dancing, and a brilliant interval magic act from the fabulous Fergus Roy.
Our January 2024 dance features the top 12 fave-rave dances as voted for by you (see January 19 crib), but don’t be downhearted if yours isn’t on it, as we will be programming all dances that received one or more votes over the course of this year. And we will be holding an ‘Aussie’ themed Luckenbooth in April.
We will be going on into May this year, and a New(ish) and/or Nervous dancers Ball. After the roaring success of our Christmas dance for less experienced dancers, we have decided to extend the season and have a spring version. More details to follow, but please put the date, May 17th in your diary.
